The desire to be understood is universal. The ability to express ourselves in such a way that we are understood is much more difficult. Niko knows how he feels and draws it. Those around him don’t always know how to interpret his art until he finds a new friend who sees him and his artistic expressions for what they truly are.
My mother introduced me at an early age to the creative exercise of drawing my myriad of feelings through lines and color. Viewing Niko’s illustration’s through Illustrator Simone Shin’s eyes reminded me of the importance of sharing this art exercise with all of our children.
Perfect for school aged children as an introduction to both tapping into creative expression and the wide open landscape of artistic interpretation.
